Meet the Tailors

Our staff are loyal, hard-working and light-hearted. Our common means of communication is in a second language for us all – Thai. In addition, in our studio you will often hear Thai, English, Akha, Karen or Lewa being spoken.

Here is our small tribute to our dedicated staff:

Naa is the backbone of our production area. Asides from being a skilled tailor in her own right, Naa has managed the rest of the tailoring staff, she has tackled pattern cutting for a Western figure, machine cutting and now knows her fair share of English. Naa is a native of the Lewa hilltribe.

Lek is the smallest which only bears relevance when we add that she is the also the loudest and most out -spoken of the bunch. Native to the Akha hilltribe, if Lek isn’t laughing, then she’s probably making someone else laugh. Lek loves a challenge and is always willing to take on something new.

Gina is a native of the Karen hill-tribe, which are world reknowned for having the neck extension rings. However, there are several groups of the Karen hill-tribe, all being known for their sharp intellect and problem solving ability. This also goes for Ging, who is a prefectionist and makes all of our samples.

Noot is also Akha and outwardly is the quiet one, although when the Akha girls get together, that all changes! Skillful and fast, Noot has been another blessing on our team for 2 years.

The newest face at the studio, Naam being Karen has picked up quickly and is not afraid to put in her two cents – a quality rarely seen or cared for in Thai culture.
