Hi there friends and neighbors, supporters of fair trade:
Shall we just say, hold on to your hats and glasses? Because I have no idea where this wild ride is taking us!
Let me just catch you up on the tailors trekking out. Yes we’ve seen the day that the tailors pack it up and go back to their villages. Luckily it couldn’t have been at a better time as it is the harvest. SO their families will be happy to see them and won’t be on their backs too much. We had a big long chat together and decided it was for the best. They are checking in weekly to see if there is any work for them.
Frankly it’s a bit, well it’s a lot relieving. It has been such a creative strain trying to design items for them to make with such limited fabrics. It was fun and challenging for awhile (and there is some really cute stuff like that little cord bubble skirt with the tulle trimming—-oooh to be a little girl again!!) but now I’m over it for awhile. I need to regroup!
You know, I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. My grandiose plan is just a plan. Where am I going with this you ask? Well, now that we’re a bit down and out, (boy am I going to have great stories for my grandkids!) Greg is taking to his calling. Yep, my man is teaching yoga. And he’s really, really good at it! We’ve turned the cutting room into a yoga studio—-overnight. And it’s cool. Did anyone read the blog where I mentioned Global Groove, may she rest in peace??? WELL she’s back on the scene now. Greg decided to call his studio Global Groove yoga. Not bad for an international community, eh? And does anyone remember our little Globally Groovy catch phrase??? Move on to Groove on. And that’s just it—In the inspirational words of the Indigo Girls, “The new road is an old friend.”
And don’t worry, we’re not losing HOPE—-we’re living HOPE.
Join us on the peace train, it’s going to be one long strange trip!
Cheers & Ciao for Now,
Gina
