Okay so I’ve been a bit on the lazy side regarding the blog, however I do have a pretty good excuse! We’ve MOVED!!!
Oh my, I can’t believe how long we were in that mildewy house of mold! Everything and I mean everything that set foot in that house or workshop was filthy. It was gross.
They say that moving is one of the most stressful things one can do, and what did Gina do??? Yes, she couldn’t wait until Tuesday to move, NO she had to get cracking on a teacher’s in service day, kids under toe. Don’t ever do that. Even though all of the tailors extraordinaire were helping (that’s 8 helpers) it was still stressful and I was a raging you-know-what to the kids! Not worth it in the end. It was extremely overwhelming. And just when I got a handle on it, another truck-load arrived and I had to point and motion to five Thai men who stared at me blankly on more than one occasion in their bare feet.
Yes, you heard me right. They did the whole job barefoot. I don’t even know if they had shoes with them. Fantastically amazing.
Not only were they moving the house and workshop like they were in the barefoot volleyball championships , THEY did the whole job with one of the guy’s five-year-old son under toe. So Why is it that THAT boy didn’t whine about play dates, about being thirsty, about being hungry, about being bored, about watching a movie, about going swimming, about getting an ice cream, about going to the park????
Uh-huh. It was just a little bit too in my face as they heaved the boxes full of plastic land-fill figurines, and cars, and dollies etc. up the stairs. Yes, just a little bit too in my face. Probably why I was that raging you-know-what to the kids. Appreciation is the ‘ole topic of the week in the Hope household. Yessireebub.
Well anyway, at least the tailors are cool now and I don’t have to worry about Dengue Fever every two seconds!! Oh and we have a bathtub!! Come to think of it, I should have just thrown the kids in the bath for the move, it being a novelty and all!
Cheers & Ciao for Now, Gina
